$1 Million Mega Millions Ticket Sold in Annapolis
Monday, April 25th, 2011Megaplier Feature on Ticket Multiplies Winnings
One lucky Maryland Lottery player woke up on Saturday morning as a new millionaire. Although there was no jackpot winner, a $1 million Megaplier second-tier ticket was sold at Quik Mart, located at 2042 West St. in Annapolis.
The Megaplier feature, which began last October for an extra dollar, allows Mega Millions players to multiply their non-jackpot wins by up to four times the regular amount. Second-tier winners, who hit with the Megaplier on their ticket, automatically increase their $250,000 to $1 million.
This was the sixth Mega Millions second-tier winning ticket sold in this state this year. The following $250,000 unclaimed tickets were purchased at: Riverdale BP in Riverdale on March 26th and Big Daddy’s BBQ & Discount Liquors in Lanham on November 16th. Winners have 182 days from the drawing date to claim the prize. The retailer who sold the ticket will receive a $2,500 bonus.
The multi-state Mega Millions game is played in 43 jurisdictions. Mega Millions drawings can be seen on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 11:22 pm on WBAL-TV, channel 11.
