$448 Million Jackpot Split Among One Minnesota, Two New Jersey Tickets
Maryland is certainly a lucky place to play Powerball. More than 103,000 Powerball players won prizes of varying amounts in the state last night, including $1 million. This marks the eighth second-tier $1 million Powerball winning ticket sold in Maryland this year.
The winning second-tier ticket was bought at the Dunkirk Fastop, located at 9880 Southern Maryland Blvd. in Dunkirk in Calvert County. The winning ticket matched all five white balls, missing only the Power Ball number. The winning numbers from Wednesday’s drawing were 05, 25, 30, 58, 59 and Power Ball 32. The winner, or winners, must claim the prize in 182 days in person at Lottery headquarters, located at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore.
Maryland’s Powerball players aren’t the only winners when Powerball hits at home. The retailer that sold the winning $1 million second-tier ticket will receive a $2,500 bonus for selling the second-tier prize.
The $448 million jackpot was the third largest in the game’s history. In March 2012, three Marylanders dubbed “The Three Amigos” took home a third of the world-record-breaking $656 million Mega Millions jackpot.
Powerball drawings can be seen on Wednesday and Saturday evenings at 11:22 p.m. on WBAL-TV, Channel 11. The multistate game is sold in 45 states and jurisdictions.
