PRIZES NET REVENUE TO THE STATE  
More than $1 billion was awarded to players in the form of prizes.
Prizes paid by game are broken down as follows:

Scratch-offs $356.7 million
Keno $146.6 million
Pick 3 $144.1 million
Pick 4 $132.2 million
Keno Bonus $  81.7 million
Mega Millions $  63.1 million
Racetrax $  59.9 million
Multi-Match $  18.3 million
Bonus Match 5 $  12.7 million
MD Hold'Em $     .3 million
Lottery revenues are deposited into the State's General Fund. Over $493 million was contributed to support such services and programs as education, public health, human resources, public safety and much more, all of which greatly benefit the citizens of Maryland.

Designated proceeds from the Mega Millions game benefit the Stadium Authority.  In FY2009, $20,000,000 was contributed to the Stadium Authority.
 
COMMISSIONS AND FEES PAID TO RETAILERS OPERATIONAL EXPENSES
Commissions and fees are paid to all licensed Lottery retailers for selling and cashing tickets. Operational expenses cover all administrative expenses, including advertising and other contractual services.
