Ellicott City Woman Continues Her Winning WaysTuesday, June 30th, 2009
Wins $100,000 Top-Prize on Fantasy Fortune Scratch-Off
The $100,000 Fantasy Fortune prize is just the latest win for the 71-year-old Ellicott City woman who came to Lottery Headquarters on Tuesday. In 1994, the widowed mother-of-four won $50,000 playing Cash in Hand. She also won $30,000 on a $2 scratch-off and in just the last two weeks alone has won $500 twice on the Lottery’s Stacks of Cash scratch-off.
Despite her streak of luck, the winner was dumbfounded by her most recent windfall. “I was numb,” she said. “I started shaking and crying. It’s the most money I have ever won.” The woman, who works as a cafeteria assistant in Howard County, purchased two $10 and two $5 scratch-offs and took them to her car to play. When she revealed her win, she flew back into the store to confirm her good fortune. “Make sure I’m not seeing things,” she told the clerk at Enchanted Forest Wine and Spirits where the ticket was purchased.
With her suspicions confirmed, the winner said that she will use the money to pay credit card bills and put some money away for her four grandchildren. “I’m also going to Charlestown Raceway and play a little,” she said with a smile.
The winning ticket was purchased at Enchanted Forest Wine and Spirits, located at 10010 Baltimore Nat’l Pike in Ellicott City.
