Frederick Man Meets his “Match”
Friday, August 14th, 2009Wins $30,000 Top Prize on Super Match 3 Scratch-Off
Robert Taylor had a few minutes on his hands, so he decided to stop and buy a Maryland Lottery scratch-off. That few minutes and one $3 Super Match ticket turned into $30,000 for the 58-year-old Frederick man.
“I stepped outside the store and scratched the ticket,” said Robert. “I couldn’t believe what I saw.” Robert was so incredulous that he went back into the store to show his ticket to the clerk who confirmed his big win.
The divorced father-of-two and grandfather-of-three wasted no time in coming to Lottery Headquarters. “I went home and got my ID and came immediately,” said the winner. Robert intends to pay off bills and relax a little with his prize money. He added that the extra cash will also come in handy with one of his children just starting college
The winning ticket was purchased at 6-Twelve Convenience Mart, located at 14100-C Darnestown Rd. in Germantown.
