Introducing the Pick 4 Combination Wager

Beginning today, September 17, 2012, the Maryland Lottery is introducing a new bet type to the Pick 4 game – a Pick 4 Combination Wager – where the base bet is only $0.25. This $0.25 bet applies only to the Pick 4 combo wagers. See the payout chart below for cost per ticket, prizes and probabilities.

The new Pick 4 playslip, shown below, features a Combo Wager section where players can chose to wager $.25, $.50 or $1.00 per bet.

Well as of yesterday, 2 retailers that I play the lottery with did not have the new play slips, So this is why the machine kept rejecting my slips and they were entering my numbers manually…

Deb: Play slips were distributed to the retailers prior to the start and informed through their sales rep about the new play type. If your retailer of choice still does not have the new play slips available please make them aware of the change and encourage them to do so.

mike: You bring up a valid point. With that said, this new add on is simply a way to offer coverage for more straight wagers on one ticket for a more affordable price. Nothing else has changed with other traditional Pick 4 wagers.

George: Play slips were distributed to the retailers prior to the start and informed through their sales rep about the new play type. At this time we did not feel that publicizing this new play type with anything more than monitor messaging and information to the retailers was needed due to the fact that this is a bet type that most plays are familiar with because we offer it on Pick 3 tickets, the only difference is we offer it for 25 cents for Pick 4 to make it more affordable.
