Introducing the Pick 4 Combination Wager

Beginning September 17, 2012, the Maryland Lottery is introducing a new bet type to the Pick 4 game – a Pick 4 Combination Wager – where the base bet is only $0.25. This $0.25 bet applies only to the Pick 4 combo wagers. See the payout chart below for cost per ticket, prizes and probabilities.

The new Pick 4 playslip, shown below, features a Combo Wager section where players can chose to wager $.25, $.50 or $1.00 per bet.

Step-Down Schedule

To prepare for the introduction of the Pick 4 Combo Wager, we will begin a “step-down” on the number of drawings available for Advance Play purchase. As a reminder, Advance Play allows Maryland Lottery players the opportunity to purchase tickets good for up to 7 consecutive draws in the future. The step-down will begin on Monday, September 10, 2012. The number of Advance Play draws available for purchase will decrease by one draw each day/evening until the introduction of the Pick 4 Combo Wager on September 17, 2012. If a player tries to purchase an Advance Draw ticket which is out of range, the terminal will display an error message “DRAWS OUT OF RANGE.”

After the close of the Sunday, September 16, 2012 drawing, players will not be able to buy Pick 4 tickets for the next draw or any future draw. Pick 4 sales for the Pick 4 game with the new Pick 4 Combo Wager will begin on Monday morning, September 17, 2012.

As you are aware, advance play allows Maryland Lottery players the opportunity to purchase tickets good for up to 7 consecutive draws in the future. The step-down began on Monday, September 10, 2012. The number of Advance Play draws available for purchase needed to decrease by one draw each day/evening until the introduction of the Pick 4 Combo Wager on today, September 17, 2012. Now that this has been completed, players can now resume their normal advance play purchases and enjoy the new Pick 4 Combo. Good luck.
