Lightning Strikes Twice at Wine World in Abingdon
Wednesday, February 15th, 2012Second-Tier $250,000 Mega Millions Ticket Sold at Lottery Retailer
It was just about six months ago that Wine World, located at 406-A Constant Friendship Blvd. in Abingdon, sold a winning $108.8 million Powerball ticket. It was the first Powerball jackpot win since the game’s arrival in Maryland in January 2010. Yesterday, lady luck arrived yet again at this popular Lottery retailer with someone matching every number except the Mega Ball to win Mega Millions’ second-tier prize of $250,000.
Since no winning jackpot ticket was sold, Friday night’s drawing will be worth $61 million, with a cash option of $44.8 million. Last night’s winning numbers were 03 05 10 26 27 and Mega Ball 27. In 2011, Maryland had 17 second-tier Mega Millions winners, including two $1 million wins as a result of adding the Megaplier option. This is the first second-tier Mega Millions ticket sold in 2012.
