Director's Message
October 2008

Buddy Roogow

Maryland
State Lottery
Autumn…what a great time
of year! The crunch of fall leaves underfoot. A chill in the air. And, of
course, football, football, football. As the gridiron season gets into full
swing, the Lottery will be out and about at both Ravens and Redskins home
games throughout the season. If you’re at the games, be sure to stop by the
Lottery booth. And, if you’re a tailgater, remember, our Tailgate Patrol
will be looking for the most creative and enthusiastic tailgate parties.
Tailgate winners receive incredible prizes, like hundreds of dollars in
scratch-off tickets, Lottery prize packs and more.
Speaking of winning, the
Lottery is proud to sponsor an event that is a win-win for everyone -- the
2008 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure taking place on Sunday, October 19th
in Hunt Valley. Be a
part of the CBS Radio Walking Team and you can walk beside many of your
favorite radio personalities…ESPN’s Anita Marks; WWMX announcer, TJ Roberts;
WLIF’s Steve Mann; WHFS’ Stacey Brown; Jason Kidd from WQSR, and more. I’ll
be there too, so come out and we can walk together…and work together to
defeat this disease. You can go to mdlottery.com for more
information.
In other Lottery news,
the Pick 3 Doubler promotion is going on right now and runs through
the 26th of this month. So don’t forget to get your tickets. You
can win double the amount on your Pick 3 Box plays when you get a
“doubler” message on the top of your winning Box play ticket. And,
Racetrax players, you’ll love the new 6 for 5 promotion that begins on
October 20th and runs through November 16th. You get a
$1 discount on any $6 Trifecta wager. As always, look for our variety of
exciting new scratch-offs, offering myriad ways to win.
There’s more than one
way to win for Mega Millions players too. Our tally of Mega
Millions winners continues to rise with over 150 -- $10,000 winners; 27
-- $250,000 winners; and last, but certainly not least, Maryland’s big $24
million Mega Millions Jackpot winner.
Thanks for stopping by;
have a great October; and remember to “Let Yourself Play!”
Sincerely,
Buddy
