I was wondering if the 50 cent pick 3 & 4′s qualify for a box doubler chance. I bought over four dozen 50 cent tickets during the $2,$5, & $10 free play promotion during the logo hunt with no free play vouchers? What is the probability of getting a box doubler? I’m up to four 50 cent purchases this time w/out a box doubler. 2 for 9 w/ $1 tickets. Haven’t noticed a minimum purchase on these two specific promotions. Thanks.

  • mdlottery

Thomas: During the Box Doubler promotion tickets need to be Box only and will be produced with either .50 cent or $1 tickets. The promotion will not work on straight/box tickets. With saying that for this promotion there is a very generous amount of doubler tickets being produced across the state. For these promotions there are doubler tickets being produced somewhere in the state every split second. During the free play promotion there were also a very generous amount being produced but may not have been as many, but still plenty were produced. Just a hint you may have better luck by buying your tickets off peak hours maybe early in the morning or after the draw in the evening for the next day. That way there may not be as many tickets being produce which may give you a little better shot.

cool new games want to double my money

  • Thomas Donovan

I would think a straight/box ticket could produce a box doubler paying $330 or $80 (i.e.6Box) thus doubling just the boxed part of the ticket. Also I would think it shouldn’t matter when a pick 3 or 4 ticket is purchased if they are given out on a pct. basis and not a set amount per time interval. I’m also guessing box doublers are available when a terminal is open thru 6/19/11 11:59PM. Could be 2 hrs later i.e. when bars close. What are terminal hours?

Boxed double pay promo , watch triples and quads come out . Gauranteed not to have to pay any double boxed payouts !!! Watch !!

  • http://Mdlottery.com D. Smith

All year pick 3 has been anything with 78 , 22 , or 00 in the number a high percentage of the draws . Look it up.

  • Carleen

What is the payout on 777 .50 box and .50 straight

  • mdlottery

    D. Smith: Winning numbers have always been – and will continue to be – purely the luck of the draw and a matter of random chance. Numbers drawn for each of the Lottery’s daily drawing games are arbitrary. Every time a ball is drawn, it is an independent and unique event, completely unaffected by what ball was drawn seconds, hours, days, or weeks earlier. In addition, each ball drawn has the same exact chance of being drawn as any other ball in the machine, at any point in time.

Although every ball has the same exact chance of coming up per draw, random drawings do occasionally produce unusual results. Because of this, similar numbers, the same numbers, or even what appears to be a pattern or sequence may be drawn from time to time. I assure you, however, that drawings conducted are fair and random.

  • mdlottery

Carleen: You can find Pick 3/Pick 4 payouts here.

  • mdlottery

Thomas: System limitations prevent us from allowing straight/box transactions to be used. Also, we do not set the promotion as a % of tickets sold. It is set up based on an Nth ticket basis so every X number of tickets produced will initiate a doubler.

    Terminal hours are 5:35 am – 1:35am.

    You can’t play 777 boxed

why is the number not on radio or tv

  • Ron

If a 4 digit box comes out that would normally pay $600 for a 50 cent box and it a doubler ticket would a claim, and taxes, have to be filed to collect the $1200

  • mdlottery

carma: Drawings are shown on TV in the Baltimore market on WBAL-TV channel 11. For information on drawing times click here. Results are also broadcast on the radio through WBAL’s sister stations WBAL-AM and 98 Rock. Many other stations across the state also display the results in some fashion.

If you live outside of the WBAL-TV viewing area and want to watch the drawings you can do so on MDLotteryTV right here at mdlottery.com.

  • mdlottery

Ron: Only prizes payments above $5,000 will have taxes withheld. You can view more information on tax liability here.

  • Marc Henson

I have the same question as Ron which I do not think answered his question. First off, on the back of pick 3 & pick 4 tickets it clearly statues “validated winning tickets valued to $600 are eligible for INSTANT PAYOFF. Validated winning tickets higher than $600 will be paid by check after claim is filed”. Ron & I both want to know can a 50 cent 4-digit winning ticket that normally pays $600 which is could be valued at $1200 for the doubler be cashed for instant payoff?

  • http://mdlottery.com mike

I believe the actual question he was attempting to ask, was on the ticket that woul nomaly pay $600 and is doubleb would a claim form be reqired to be filled out or would the ticket be allowed to be paid by a regular payout facility without the paperwork.

  • Marc

When someone hits the 4 digit with the box doubler and the winning amount exceeds $600, Does instant payoff apply?

  • mdlottery

Marc: I apologize for misunderstanding the question. I got up with our claims department and here is how they explained it to me:

Anytime a winning ticket has a value of more then $600.00 and not exceeds $5,000.00 then the customer can go to an agent plus location; however a claim form must be filed and the customer is liable for all taxes on their winning ticket. The only exception is keno when a customer wins $600.00 on their $1.00 play and wins up to $600.00 on their bonus play which cost them an additional $1.00; then the customer does not have to pay taxes on the $1,200.00 winning ticket.

    Hope this helps.

  • really???

Seriously you guys are worrying if / and or how the State lottery will tax you BEFORE you win , I am all for positive thinking and all that jazz,… although there is a difference between positive thinking and just stone cold straight BI*C#@!G…after all they (state lottery)are basically handing out FREE ..FREE Box tickets to there players , of course not everyone but a 1 out of 20 aint bad shoot 1 out of 500 , (probably closer to the real number)

  • http://mdlottery.com mike

sir, your response shows an action of a child, the players are asking good questions, in order to plan a strategy, should they have the good luck of winning. Perhaps you don’t plan for future events that may never happen. It is information that is needed, just as you have taxes taken out of your paycheck, having a direct effect on the amount of a refund, the player needs to know the liability they may have and the proper procedure to take in advance.

  • http://mdlottery.md SANDY

STASH SHOULD BE TAKEN OFF THE LIVE LOTTERY DRAWINGS. WHENEVER A 8 APPEARS HE GIVES THIS ANNOYING WHOOP WHOOP REMARK. IT’S LIKE HE KNEW IT WOULD COME UP.HE’S ANNOYING. IT’S LIKE HE’S TRYING TO IMPLY THE GAME IS RIGGED JUST FOR HIM. I’M JUST SAYING.

  • mdlottery

Sandy: Stash’s reaction to the results are purely on the fly. He has no prior knowledge to the results. What you see on LIVE television is what Stash is seeing on set.

  • really???

plan a statergy, excellent , but to continue to hark on the situation is ass-inine. btw there is a HUGE difference when it comes to planning taxes for your paycheck compared to that of the lottery , at least for me, my paycheck is not a thing of ‘chance’ and hope the same is for you and yours.
Trying my best not to get into anykind of name calling ,but I have found that these same people who constantly groan on here are the ones who go to play the numbers w/ about 4-7 crumpled up pieces of paper and ask the attendant to play em ,they walk away looking to play more then get mad at the attendant when they could not read every number down on the 2yr ol piece of paper that looks like one big ol glob of ink

  • really???

THEY ARE 2 DIFFERENT TICKETS ,…THEREFORE IF THE FIRST ONE IS .50 (AND YOU PLAN SOOO CAREFULLY)COMES OUT TO BE $400, GOOD THAT IS ONE TICKET NO NEED TO FILL OUT ANYTHING AND W/ THE BONUS DOUBLER IT WOULD BE ANOTHER $400 DOLLAR TICKET …GREAT WELL PLAN,//// BTW DO YOU BUY PENNY/ STOCKS/

  • really???

BTW MIKE I have had 1) 30,000.00 pick 4 winner 2) 5,000.00 winners 7) 2500.00 winners and over 20) 250+ winners ,..so I have been LUCKY enough to withdrwl my deposits once in a while and sense this is a game of HUGE CHANCE I will not worry about taxes til after the fact when in fact I am all smiles , who wants to think about taxes and have nothin in there hands to tax

MD Lottery have these Bonus Pay-Off games because they take in more money then they pay-out. Why don’t they pay off like some other States. For example pick 4 or 3 digit numbers pay-out for 4 exact 3 exact 2 exact 1 exact 4 anyway 3 anyway first 3 anyway last 3 anyway.

  • patrick

wow i missed it by one number tonight =(

  • Betty

I have been playing a 4 digit number straight since the 4 digits started and this particular number has not played. I would like to know if this is possible.

  • http://lotterypick3n4doubler Patricia

One quick question before I toss my lucky losers in the trash can. I thought I read somewhere with the doubler promotion you still are given YET another CHANCE TO MATCH SOMETHING.

ok – I understand if my 3 or 4 digit doubler doesnt match when drawn it makes it a loser. However; if certain numbers from the tickets bar code match the pick three/four number drawn on tv that makes you the lucky winner of $100 dollars 2nd set of numbers matching.

Is this accrate that this is what other chance you have to win on the double plays?
or do you only have the one chance to win that evening for that draw?

Please advise or explain while I continue to search for more answers and my DOUBLE play tickets JUST IN CASE THIS IS REALLY WHAT I READ SOMEWHERE??????? I

  • lady bug

I to have been playing to same pick 4 number for 5 years one of them only can out 20 years ago and the other number never came out what is the problem

  • mdlottery

Patrcia: Yes there is a second chance to win with the Double Play contest. However, only Double Play scratch-offs are eligible to enter this particular contest. You can learn more about the Double Play contest and how to enter here at mdlottery.com/doubleplay.

  • mdlottery

Betty and Lady Bug: Feel free to use our Numbers Search. There you can view a historical perspective of when and how many times particular numbers sets have come up.
