Powerball Jackpot Reaches $126 Million
Friday, February 18th, 2011
With the jackpot steadily climbing, Marylanders interested in becoming the next multi-millionaire will be heading out to Lottery retailers statewide. Everyone will have the same goal: to buy the winning jackpot ticket for Saturday night’s Powerball drawing. The current estimated annuity value is $126 million, with a cash option of $61.9 million.
While Powerball has not delivered a top-tier winner to this state, Marylanders have won other prizes. In the past year since the game started in Maryland, there have been eight local winners of the $200,000 second-tier prize, two of whom turned their winnings into $1 million using Powerball’s power play option which enables players to increase their prize up to four times. The Powerball drawing can be seen on Wednesday and Saturday evenings at 11:22 p.m. on WBAL-TV, Channel 11.
