Super Crosswords is Super Win for Pasadena Woman
$50,000 Top-Prize winner
 

(Baltimore) – Dawn Lynn Dorr had no idea when she bought her favorite Bingo and Crossword scratch-offs that she would walk out of Plaza Liquors $50,000 richer. “When I first thought I won I told my daughter Nikki,” said Dawn. “I asked her to please check it to make sure.”

“I checked it and told her it was right and she argued with me,” said Nikki. After arguing and double checking the ticket again with her daughter, Dawn ran to the bedroom to tell her sleeping husband. “I told him I won, but he thought I was crazy and he went back to sleep,” laughed the mother-of-two.

The 44-year-old still didn’t fully believe that she was a winner until she went back to Plaza Liquors the next day and they confirmed it. When she returned home with the good news her husband hid the Super Crossword scratch-off in the house.

Dawn, who has been employed at Giant for 23 years, plans to pay off all her debts and her daughter’s truck. The soon-to-be grandmother told Lottery officials, “I play scratch-offs because I feel like I get my money’s worth.” The winning ticket was purchased at Plaza Liquors, located at 4125 Mountain Rd. in Pasadena.
