Doubling Star Crossword Win Arrives at Good Time
Glen Burnie Woman Claims $30,000 Top Prize

(Baltimore) – After a number of recent hardships, Sharon Hall said that her $30,000 Lottery win couldn’t have come at a better time. The Glen Burnie woman who was accompanied to Lottery Headquarters by her boyfriend, Chris Murray, expressed her tremendous thankfulness for her top-prize win on the Doubling Star Crossword scratch-off. “I was by myself and looked at the ticket and thought there are ten words here,” she said. “At that point, I started crying.”

Sharon purchased five Doubling Star Crosswords the night before. She scratched two of them and then went to bed. The next morning, after returning home from helping out her sister,  she remembered the other three. She then scratched her remaining tickets. The last one revealed her $30,000 windfall. Minutes after realizing she was a winner, Sharon’s sister came to her home. “I told her to look at the ticket, I was trembling and shaking,” said Sharon.

She also called her mother, who along with Sharon shed tears of joy. The 38-year-old mother-of-four has been out on disability from her job in finance and said that this money will be a huge help. She intends to use her winnings to pay bills and put the rest into a savings account which will assist with expenses until she returns to work.

The winning ticket was purchased at Pop Grocery & Deli, located at 7459 Furnace Branch Rd. in Glen Burnie.
