Fate Leads Police Officer to Purchase Winning Ticket
Severn Family Wins $50,000 Top Prize

(Baltimore) – Fate brought Ronnie Collier back to Luckies, his local convenience store. It was there that he purchased a winning $50,000 Cashino scratch-off ticket. Ronnie had originally gone to Luckies to pick up his 14-year-old daughter, Taylor, who works at the store. His usual routine is to buy a couple of $5 scratch-off tickets while waiting for his daughter and to scratch the tickets at home.

However, last Friday fate stepped in when Taylor realized she left her phone at work. Also, one of their scratch-off tickets was a $10 winner, so they decided to make the trip back to the store. While there, Ronnie thought he’d try his luck once again and he bought another scratch-off. As usual, he didn’t scratch the ticket until he was home. This time the result was any but usual when he revealed a $50,000 top prize.

“I couldn’t believe it!” said Ronnie, a WSSC police officer. “I made my wife and daughter check the ticket over and over again to make sure it was right!” The Collier’s once again piled into the car and made the trip back to Luckies to formally verify their winning ticket. “It took a lot of gas, but it was worth it!” exclaimed Ronnie’s wife, Michelle.

With their winnings, the Collier’s plan to pay off Ronnie’s new motorcycle and contribute to a college savings account for their daughter. “We have to start saving early,” said Michelle, “Taylor already knows she wants to go to the University of Texas to play softball, and it’s not going to be cheap!” The Collier’s have won $100 playing Cashino in the past, and plan to continue to routinely play scratch-off games.

The winning ticket was purchased at Luckies, 8290 Portsmouth Drive in Severn, Maryland.
