Cool Win for a Cool Operator
$250,000 Mega Millions Winner
(Baltimore) A refrigeration technician was reminded
by his mom to play the Mega Millions Lottery game on Tuesday.
“My mom plays all the time and I’ve played a couple of times,” said
the lucky winner. So, heeding his mother’s advice, the 21-year-old
stopped on his way home from work and purchased a $5 Quick Pick
Mega Millions ticket.
The Tess College graduate took the ticket back to the store on
Friday to see if he had won. The clerk there told him he had.
“You’re lying,” the winner responded in disbelief. He then asked the
clerk if it was a $100,000 prize. “Something like that,” the clerk
replied. “Yeah right,” said the skeptical winner.
Still not sure how much he had won or even if he really was a winner
he headed to Lottery Headquarters. He went to another location only
to find that he was at the wrong place. While he was there he went
to yet another Lottery retailer where they also confirmed that he
had won. To his surprise, once he arrived at Lottery Headquarters,
located at 1800 Washington Boulevard, in Baltimore, they told him he
was a $250,000 prize winner.
The single, Baltimore man plans to go back to school and start an
Internet business. When asked about any vacation plans, he replied
with a smile, “Oh yes, I’m flying to Miami and taking a few friends
- treat is on me.” The winning ticket was purchased at Security
Boulevard Liquors, located at 6628 Security Boulevard in Baltimore.
