Happy Belated Birthday for Baltimore
woman
(Baltimore) – Just a few days after
her 21st birthday, a Baltimore woman received a $250,000
gift from the Maryland Lottery when she won the Mega Millions
second-tier prize. “We are so excited, my fiancé almost fell out of
the chair” said the young winner. Her birthday was Monday, July 28th
and she played Mega Millions on Friday, August 1st
It wasn’t until a week later, on Friday, August 8th at 3
am in the morning, that she and her fiancé checked their ticket on
mdlottery.com. Both of them stared at the computer for three
hours in disbelief when they discovered they were $250,000 richer.
An avid player of Mega Millions and scratch-off tickets, the
woman said her patience paid off with this being the largest sum she
has ever won. Her fiancé said that they have been engaged to be
married for two years now and plan to have a nice wedding. “In
addition, I’m going to buy a house, a car and pay off some debt. I
also want to spend some on our 2-year-old son,” said her fiancé.
The winner works as an assistant
manager at Blockbuster and her fiancé has two jobs working as a
bartender and a landscaper. The winning ticket was purchased at
Roland Park Station Exxon at 5425 Falls Road in Baltimore.
