Big Group Wins Big with Mega Millions
Office Group Wins $10,000

(Baltimore) The Maryland Lottery’s claim center was a bit more crowded than normal this afternoon as representatives of a 39-member Mega Millions club stopped in to claim a third-tier $10,000 prize. The winners work in the audit department of K Bank’s corporate headquarters in Owings Mills.

The 39 members of the group started pooling their money in June and have had a few small wins before Lady Luck struck last Friday, according to club organizer Kimberly Saylor who collects the money, buys the tickets and distributes copies to her co-workers.

Ms. Saylor was among the first to know of the win. “I checked our numbers on my neighborhood Lottery store’s ticket-checker and saw a message I’d never gotten before,” she told officials. “The store owner and I figured out how much we’d won and I called all the co-workers I could.” Most, however, had to wait until Monday morning to learn the news.

“It was a crazy scene Monday morning, lots of happy people.” Among those smiling last Monday and this afternoon were Nancy Sullivan, Michael Malvaso, Celestine Gaymon, Lisa Bosse and Gregory Patterson. When asked where the other 33 winners were the
club members, “somebody had to stay back and run the bank.”

The winning Mega Millions ticket was purchased at Boulevard Fine Wine & Spirits at 10995 Owings Mills Boulevard.
