$50,000 Bonus Match 5 Win for Hyattsville Man

BALTIMORE, MD – Random numbers led to a big win for a Hyattsville construction worker. He won $50,000 playing Bonus Match 5 this past Friday. The happily married man has been playing the same numbers for the past five years and they finally paid off.

The winner said the numbers he plays are not significant like birthdays or anniversaries. “No, I didn’t choose special days like that,” he said. “I just picked some numbers and went for it.”

The lucky player found out he won on Labor Day by checking the ticket on the Lottery’s website, mdlottery.com.  He said his wife was sitting right beside him when the win was revealed and she burst into tears.

The player, originally from Trinidad and Tobago, is going to use his prize money towards some bills and maybe a vacation later in the year.

The winning ticket was purchased at Landover Liquors located at 6504 Landover Road in Prince George’s County.
