New Car Search Receives Boost from Lottery
$50,000 Scratch-off Win for Baltimore County Man

BALTIMORE, MD – A Monkton man left the Lottery’s claim center today in a car that, as soon as this coming weekend, will be just a memory in his rear view mirror.  A $50,000 scratch-off win playing the Queen of Hearts instant game has put his search for a new car in overdrive.

The 54-year works for an advertising agency. After visiting a client on Friday afternoon, he stopped by a nearby Lottery retailer to buy a few tickets.  “I play almost all of your games from time to time,” he told officials.  “On Friday I was in a scratch-off mood.”  He chose the Queen of Hearts game and scratched the ticket right there in the car.  As the numbers appeared to match the winner paused.  “I’ve had trouble with my glasses recently so I was sure I was seeing things.”

Neither his eyes, nor his glasses, were deceiving him,  the $50,000 top prize was his.  Next stop: a car dealer.  “I’ve been in the market for a new car for a while now,” the Baltimore County man explained.  “This is going to make my search easier and my future car much nicer.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Shawan Liquors located at
11337 York Road in Cockeysville.
