Takoma Park Woman Takes Home a $50,000 Bonus
Bonus Match 5 $50,000 Win

(Baltimore) Birthdates played an important role for a 63-year-old-woman who won $50,000 while playing Bonus Match 5. “I play all the dates my immediate family was born,” she said. “I’ve been doing the same routine for a long time now.” Originally from Barbados, the lucky woman also won an additional $25 playing Multi-Match with the same numbers.

The winner grew up in England. Since immigrating to Maryland in 1979, she has been a dedicated Lottery player. On the day of her win, she went to the convenience store earlier to play her numbers. Later on that night she went online to check her tickets. The woman said that she simply smiled when she saw that all her numbers matched the winning numbers. She then called her brother to spread the great news. The woman told Lottery officials that when she went to the store the next morning to claim her Multi-Match win, the store clerk said, “You won last night. I know it was you.” The Takoma Park woman playfully denied the accusations, collected her $25 and then took her winning Bonus Match 5 ticket to Lottery headquarters.

The Montgomery County woman works as a registered nurse at a surgery center. With her winnings, she plans to give a few family members some money, donate to the church and buy a rug to go with her new living room set. She added that it will also provide her with some extra cash when she travels to London to work.
