The “Wright” Pick – Landover Man Wins
$31,311 Racetrax Prize
(Baltimore) – John Wright made the right pick.
The 56-year-old, who played the numbers 10, 11 and 12 in a $6
trifecta box, won $31,311 on Wednesday playing the Maryland
Lottery’s Racetrax monitor game.
John, who works at a produce market, stopped to
buy Lottery tickets on his way home from work. A big fan of horse
racing, John said he allows himself one Racetrax game a
week. “You can’t win without trying,” he said.
The lucky winner said he was jumping and
screaming when his horses won the race. He left the store and
hurried right to Lottery Headquarters to claim his prize. “I cannot
wait to surprise my wife, Janet,” John said, anxious to share the
good news with her when she comes home from work. “She is very
beautiful,” he said of his wife of 35 years. “And she deserves this
very much.”
John said he will use his winnings to make
repairs around his house. The winning ticket was purchased at Ace
Food Mart, located at 7501 Landover Road in Landover.
