Claims $10K Contest Prize
(Baltimore)
– Margaret “Peggy” Martin had a pretty eventful day yesterday. The
Mechanicsville resident learned that her mother, who had heart
bypass surgery recently, would soon be coming home. Then, the
school bus driver received a phone call from a Lottery official
telling her that she was randomly selected as the first $10,000
winner from the Livin’ Lucky Internet Promotion.
Peggy didn’t initially believe the official. “I thought it was a
joke,” she said. “I even called the Lottery after we hung up to make
sure it was for real.” The 57-year-old then called her husband,
Tony, and tearfully told him the good news. Tony left work to bring
Peggy to Lottery Headquarters in
Baltimore
to claim her prize.
With the winnings, the happy couple plans to do some home
improvements. Peggy wants new counters for the kitchen and Tony
wants to add a garage onto the house.
Players who purchase a Livin’ Lucky scratch-off may take part
in the Internet Promotion by entering the ticket’s eight-digit Lucky
Code at mdlottery.com/lucky. Regular drawings are held giving
entrants the chance to win prizes including concert tickets and
baseball tickets. Every time 10% of the ticket is sold, a lucky
winner will be selected to receive $10,000. A grand prize of
$100,000 will be given away at the end of the promotion. If a
player entered a Lucky code from a Livin’ Lucky scratch-off
during the Cash Extravaganza promotion in June, their entry is
automatically entered into this promotion. Players must hold on to
their Livin’ Lucky Lucky Codes in order to claim their prizes
if they win. For more information, visit mdlottery.com/lucky.
