Baltimore Woman Strikes it Rich with the Maryland Lottery’s Jackpot Riches

(Baltimore) – A Baltimore woman came to Lottery Headquarters on Monday to claim her $50,000 prize.  The lucky 51-year-old scratched the top prize on the Maryland Lottery’s Jackpot Riches scratch-off.  “The ticket looked at me,” she said.  “It seemed like it would be lucky.”

 The lucky lady was in the car Friday afternoon when she scratched the winning ticket.  “I was shocked,” she said.  “I still can’t believe it’s real.”  She gave the winning ticket to her sister for safekeeping over the weekend.   

“This is such a blessing,” the winner said.  “It came at just the right time.”  The winner, who used to work in the catering business, has been out of work for almost a year.  She plans to use the winnings to catch up on bills and take a trip with her sister. 

The winning ticket was purchased at Sam’s Lobby Shop on 10 N. Calvert St. in Baltimore.  The Maryland Lottery’s $5 scratch-off, Jackpot Riches has three $50,000 top-prizes remaining.
