Four Mega Millions Tickets Remain Unclaimed

(Baltimore) – A Hyattsville man came to Lottery Headquarters on Friday to claim the $250,000 Mega Millions prize he won on July 31st.  The lucky man was accompanied by his lifelong best friend.

The 35-year-old winner has been playing Mega Millions for about a year, using Quick Pick to randomly select his numbers.  “He’s always won small amounts - $5 and $10 – but he kept dreaming he’d win something big,” his friend said.

The lucky winner, a native of Guatemala, moved to Maryland in 1995.  “In our country, life is so different,” his friend told Lottery Officials.  “Here, we have so many opportunities.”  The winner hopes his luck will continue and plans to use his winnings to pay bills and buy more Mega Millions tickets.  The winning ticket was purchased at the Cherry Hill Sunoco, located at 12040 Cherry Hill Road in Silver Spring.

Currently, four second-tier Mega Millions tickets remain unclaimed. Prizes must be claimed within 182 days of the drawing date.  The unclaimed ticketsare:
