Multi-Match Jackpot
Reaches New Record-Breaking High
$4.5 Million for
Wednesday Night’s Drawing
(Baltimore, MD)
– – There was no big winner in Saturday night’s
Multi-Match drawing, bringing the jackpot to a new all-time high
of $4.5 million for Wednesday evening. The game, which debuted in
2006, offers the second-largest jackpot amounts – coming in behind
the multi-state Mega Millions game. While Mega Millions
often tends to grab the spotlight due to its more dramatic numbers,
Maryland’s Multi-Match offers far better odds of winning.
According
to lottery officials the odds of winning the Mega Millions
top prize is about 175 million to one. In comparison,
Multi-Match’s jackpot odds are six million to one.
As suggested by its name, there are multiple ways to win with
Multi-Match. Players may win by matching 3, 4 or 5 numbers on
any one line, or by matching 5 to 18 numbers on all three lines
combined. To win the jackpot, players must match all six numbers on
one line. The Multi-Match jackpot starts at $500,000 and
rises every time the large prize isn’t won. Prior to this
record-breaking roll, the largest Multi-Match jackpot payout
was $3 million, which was won by a Glen Burnie woman in November
2008.
Multi-Match
drawings can be seen on WBAL-TV Channel 11 on Wednesdays and
Saturdays at 11:22 pm.
