Father-of-Nine Wins $250,000 Mega
Millions Prize
(Baltimore) – The soft-spoken Centreville resident arrived at
Lottery headquarters with just one of his daughters. But, he intends
to share his good fortune will his entire brood of children. “Times
are tough,” said the retired businessman, adding that in addition to
helping his many kids, he would also make improvements to his home
with his winnings.
The 82-year-old remained calm as he described his second-tier
Mega Millions win. “I checked my numbers in the Washington Times
newspaper,” he said.
“When I realized I
had a $250,000 ticket, I immediately told my wife the good news.”
The winner’s game of choice is Mega Millions, which he plays
occasionally, saying that the size of the jackpot doesn’t impact his
decision to buy a ticket. In addition to his Mega Millions
play, he also enjoys stamp collecting, gardening and listening to
classical music.
The winning ticket
was purchased at the Centreville Citgo, located at 426 Commerce St.,
in Centreville.
