Harford County Man Finally Convinced of $50,000
Bonus Match 5
Win
(Baltimore) – It took three trips to three Lottery retailers for a
Harford County man to finally realize he was $50,000 richer. He had
gone to his local 7-11 to buy milk when he remembered he had some
Lottery tickets to check. The first store said he had a winning
Bonus Match 5 ticket, but he decided to check it again at
another store, where the machine again read “Cash at Lottery.”
The 52-year-old
figured he had about a $500 win. He then took his ticket to yet
another retailer where to his surprise he found out he was actually
a $50,000 winner. “I was happy. I thought it was about $500, $50,000
-- that’s a big difference,” the winner said with a chuckle. His
wife and mother, who accompanied him to Lottery headquarters, were
chuckling too.
His wife, of
just eight months, was the first to receive the good news. “I
called him because he was supposed to be getting milk and he had
been gone for over an hour,” she said. When she asked what was
taking him so long he told her not to worry just be happy when I get
home.
“I went into the
living room to watched TV, I figured he got me a candy bar,
chocolate Mmmm, but it was better than that,” she admitted. When he
returned home he placed the winning $50,000 Bonus Match 5
ticket in her lap. His wife looked at ticket and said,
“Unbelievable, I’m so happy for you, Hon”.
The winner
intends to pay bills with his new found riches. The winning ticket
was purchased at the 7-11 #33075 Shrestha on
Philadelphia Rd.
in Abingdon.
