A Pre-Halloween Treat for
Pick 3 Players
Last Night’s Drawing Breaks the Bank
(Baltimore) – The number Zero is often used in a negative way these
days, to describe a general lack of something. These descriptions
are, of course, still dictionary-true, but wholly incorrect when
discussing Wednesday night’s zeros - three zeros in fact. Pick 3
players who chose 0-0-0 as their number last night helped break the
Lottery bank and, in doing so, have anything but empty pockets.
“It’s been quite a while since triple zeros made an
appearance,” reported Lottery Director Buddy Roogow, “more than four
years, in fact.” Records show that 0-0-0 was last drawn in June of
2005. And, as is the case whenever triple numbers are drawn, the
prize payout is well above the amount wagered. The Lottery took in
more than $414,000 in Pick 3 sales last night and paid out almost
$803,000.
The Maryland Lottery’s Pick 3 drawings are held twice daily
-- midday and evening, seven-days-a-week and are televised every day
except Saturdays on WBAL-TV.
