Taneytown Man Plays It Cool After Winning Big
Thursday, April 9th, 2009Wins $50,000 Cashino Top Prize
An 81-year-old Taneytown man came to Lottery Headquarters today to claim a $50,000 top prize from the Cashino scratch-off. A frequent Lottery player, the former Montgomery County high school business education teacher said this was the fourth time he won over $1,500 dollars from a scratch-off ticket.
“I pretty much kept an even keel,” said the great grandfather-of-nine. Besides paying off his van debts, the retiree has no major plans for his winnings.
The Poolesville native said he would continue to play scratch-offs and Mega Millions until he lands “the big one.” “Odds are you folks will see me back here in a couple months,” he told Lottery officials with a giant grin on his face.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Liquor Barn, located at 520 East Baltimore Street in Taneytown.
