Two Big Mega Millions Wins in Maryland
Wednesday, June 15th, 2011$250,000 tickets sold in Prince George’s County and Anne Arundel County
Mega Millions players in Maryland are on a winning streak in recent weeks. Only a few days after a similar second-tier win in Elkton, this morning finds two more Marylanders suddenly $250,000 richer. Last night’s lucky tickets were sold at West Laurel Exxon, located at 15151 Sweitzer Lane in Laurel and Harwood Market, located at 4450 Solomon’s Island Rd. in Harwood. Since no one hit the jackpot, Friday night’s drawing will be worth $53 million and carry a cash option of $34.6 million. The winning numbers were 9, 10, 20, 51, 53 and Mega Ball 24. That Mega Ball, 24, was the one number last night’s winners missed.
With these two winners, Maryland has sold 11 second-tier Mega Millions tickets this year. Along with last night’s winners, a ticket sold at Riverdale BP in Riverdale on March 26th remains unclaimed. All prizes must be claimed within 182 days of the drawing date.
The multi-state Mega Millions game is played in 42 jurisdictions – including Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and the District of Columbia. Mega Millions drawings can be seen on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 11:22 pm on WBAL-TV, channel 11.
