$1 Million Mega Millions Ticket Sold in Bel Air

Second $1 million winner sold in Maryland since jackpot roll began in September

The Mega Millions jackpot continue its roll, as there was no winner in last night’s drawing, but a lucky player did put Maryland on the map. The state’s new millionaire won a second-tier prize on a ticket sold in Bel Air.

The numbers for the Dec. 10 drawing were 12, 14, 26, 48 and 52 with a Mega Ball of 21.

The winning ticket was purchased at Wawa #553 at 709 Belair Road. For selling the second-tier winning ticket, the Harford County retailer picks up a $2,500 Lottery bonus.

This is the second Mega Millions ticket worth $1 million that has been sold in Maryland during the current jackpot roll, which started in September. That other $1 million prize was claimed by an Anne Arundel County resident on a ticket he purchased in October in Brooklyn Park.

The winner will have 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim the prize. In addition to having a $1 million winning ticket, Maryland also sold 31,655 winners ranging from $2 to $500.

Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the backs of winning tickets immediately and keep those tickets secure until arrangements to claim have been made.

Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes up to $25,000 can be claimed at the cashier window of any of the six casinos in Maryland. More information on claiming prizes at other levels is available on the How to Claim page of the Lottery website.

Since there were no jackpot winners in last night’s drawing, the jackpot rolled again to an estimated annuity of $670 million in the Dec. 13 drawing with an estimated cash option of $317.8 million.
