$100,000 Shock for Baltimore County Woman

Baltimore County FAST PLAY fan wins $100,000 Mega Multiplier top prize.

Mega Multiplier top-prize win arrives at perfect time

A car rental employee told Lottery officials on Wednesday that she only plays FAST PLAY games, and only once a week. She reported that her favorite FAST PLAY ticket, Mega Multiplier, once delivered a $100 winner, her biggest ever. Until this week, that is. The Baltimore County woman has become the latest to win that game’s $100,000 top prize.

It all started when she had a $5 winner to cash. “I stopped at a store, cashed it in and bought another ticket.” That ticket was also a winner, so she bought one more – another winner.  “I bought three FAST PLAY tickets all together and all were winners, so I decided to get one more.” That last one, a $10 Mega Multiplier game, is what brought her to Lottery headquarters.

“I was stunned, just couldn’t believe it,” she told us. “I couldn’t accept that it was real, so I went out to my car and checked it on my lottery app.” Upon arriving home, satisfied that the win was real, she found that it took a long time to convince her husband. “He must have looked at it for ten minutes. He read every single word on the ticket to find something that would make it a fake.” When he handed it back to her with a smile on his face, she told us, both of their hands were shaking.

Mega Multiplier went on sale in the first week of April 2023 with thirty $100,000 top prizes available. Twenty-five remain unclaimed along with 14 $50,000 second-tier winners. The FAST PLAY category of Lottery games resemble scratch-off tickets in game style. These tickets, however, require no scratching.

This story played out at Edgemere Convenience at 7308 North Point Road. The Baltimore County business will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the top-prize winner. Our lucky FAST PLAY fan, who chose to remain anonymous, listed preparations for a very special family celebration and a long-overdue home remodeling project when we asked about her plans for the $100,000 prize.
