Greenbelt player wins top prize on 20X The Cash game
A new player who chose the nickname “Chando” to tell the story of his good fortune struck gold just five months into his Lottery journey, winning a $50,000 top prize on the 20X The Cash scratch-off.
“Chando” of Greenbelt began playing Lottery games after a conversation with a coworker. He was inspired by the suggestion and started playing twice a week, trying his luck with games like Pick 5 and various scratch-offs.
Recently, “Chando” purchased seven different scratch-offs including the $5 20X The Cash instant ticket from Like on TV, a retailer located at 6198 Greenbelt Road in Greenbelt. When he got home and began scratching off his tickets, the novice discovered that most were non-winners — except one.
“I couldn’t do anything but drop to my knees and thank God,” “Chando” recalled. “My kids thought I was joking, but I was in disbelief. This feels like a dream come true.”
This $50,000 top-prize win is his first Lottery prize. He plans to use his windfall to purchase a home for his family and create a memorable holiday celebration for his loved ones.
His win also brings a bonus to the retailer that sold the top-prize winning scratch-off. The Prince George’s County store, Like on TV, will receive a $500 Lottery bonus for its role in his win.
The 20X The Cash game went on sale in January 2024 and has one top prize remaining, along with other prizes ranging from $5 to $1,000.
