Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is an estimated annuity value of $196 million
If you added the Double Play option on your Powerball tickets for last night’s drawing, check then closely: A $50,000-winning ticket was sold in Germantown.
The Double Play third-tier winning ticket was purchased at the Shoppers Food store in Germantown, located at 18066 Mateny Road. The winning numbers in the Nov. 25 Double Play drawing were 2, 13, 25, 27 and 39; the Powerball was 10.
Double Play is a separate drawing that occurs Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night, 30 minutes after each Powerball drawing, giving players a chance to win up to $10 million. Adding the Double Play feature to your Powerball ticket costs an additional $1 and makes your ticket good for both the Powerball drawing and the Double Play drawing.
There was no jackpot, second-tier or third-tier winners in Maryland for the Nov. 25 Powerball drawing, although 8,253 players won prizes of $4 to $200. Powerball will be back on Nov. 27 with the jackpot sitting at an estimated annuity value of $196 million and an estimated cash option of $90.7 million.
Tonight, Mega Millions returns with a jackpot set at an estimated annuity of $489 million with an estimated cash option of $225.3 million.
Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. They get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
Instructions for claiming prizes are available on the How to Claim page of the Lottery website. Prizes of more than $25,000 must be claimed through Lottery headquarters, either in person or by mail.
