Player finds third-tier prize in May 13 drawing
If you live in or visited Carroll County recently, check your Powerball tickets! A $50,000-winning ticket was sold in Manchester for Monday night’s drawing.
The winning numbers to match for the May 13 drawing were 5, 14, 29, 38 and 66; the Powerball was 1. The lucky store that sold the ticket was Piper’s Wine and Spirit Barn, located at 4127 Hanover Pike in Manchester.
The lucky ticket holder is the only person in Maryland to win a third-tier prize and one of 10 $50,000 winners nationwide. This is the 29th third-tier Powerball prize won in Maryland in 2024.
No one hit the jackpot, but Maryland had 6,636 winners of prizes from $4 to $50,000. The jackpot for Wednesday’s May 15 drawing rolled to an estimated annuity of $59,000 with the estimated cash option set at $27.6 million.
Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the back of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. Instructions on claiming prizes in person or by mail are available HERE. Players must redeem prizes larger than $25,000 by mail or at Lottery headquarters in the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330 in Baltimore. The Lottery’s Claims Center in Baltimore is open by appointment only (no walk-ins). Click HERE to schedule an appointment.
