Lucky ticket sold in Wednesday’s drawing
We have another $50,000 Powerball winner! Even though no one hit the jackpot, there were 13,373 Maryland winners in the Wednesday, Jan. 27 drawing. Prizes ranged from $4 to $50,000.
The Maryland Lottery is looking for the lucky player with a ticket matching the winning numbers of 17, 33, 35, 42 and 52; the Powerball was 9 and the Power Play multiplier was 3. The player bought the winning ticket at Snacks ’n Keno located at 6408 Reisterstown Road in Baltimore.
Lottery officials encourage the winner to sign the back of the ticket immediately and put it in a safe location. Winners typically get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. However, the Lottery has temporarily extended claiming deadlines due to Maryland’s COVID-19 state of emergency.
The lucky player can claim the $50,000 prize by mail or in person by appointment at the Lottery headquarters’ Customer Resource Center located at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore. Winners of smaller Powerball prizes can claim them by mail, at Lottery retailers, at casinos or by appointment at Lottery headquarters. The Powerball jackpot rolled to $30 million for the Saturday, Jan. 30 drawing, with a cash option of $22.5 million. This year, the state has now had 12 third-tier $50,000 winners. The last Powerball jackpot win was for $23 million in the Jan. 23 drawing, with the winning ticket sold in New Jersey.

Winning numbers are available at mdlottery.com and on your smartphone by downloading the free MD Lottery app. Powerball is offered in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets cost $2 each. Odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 292 million to 1. Overall odds of winning any prize are about 25 to 1.
