This Gettysburg woman crossed the Mason-Dixon line to collect a $100,000 FAST PLAY prize.
Discovers $100,000 top prize on FAST PLAY Towering 10s game
A retired federal official crossed the Mason-Dixon Line to visit Lottery headquarters on Friday, thanks to her decision to fuel up on a recent visit with her mom in Maryland. The trip from Pennsylvania was a happy one for the Gettysburg resident as she traveled with her mother and a FAST PLAY ticket worth $100,000.
The anonymous player, who selected the nickname “K Wiss” for Lottery publicity, bought her top-prize winning ticket last week.
“I get down there pretty often,” she explained to Lottery officials. “Mom and I usually have a pretty fun time together.” Their stop for gas at the Town Center Sunoco in Germantown made last week’s visit particularly memorable.
“I play the lottery at home pretty often, so I get tickets here when I visit,” she said. The ticket selected by “K Wiss” was a new $10 FAST PLAY game called Towering 10s that went on sale at Maryland Lottery retailers on July 4. She immediately saw that her ticket matched the winning numbers in two of the 10 towers, which turned two $50,000 wins into a combined $100,000 top prize.
“I didn’t react at all,” recalled the 58-year-old. “I walked straight out to the car to show my mom. I told her, ‘I think I won big.’” The duo returned to the store to scan her Towering 10s ticket. “There it was,” she said, “the $100,000 was real.”
“K Wiss” and her husband have already decided on two projects that will benefit from her good fortune. She said they are setting up “a college fund for our grandchildren and Mom needs a new patio.” The lucky lady found the first of 30 $100,000 top prizes in this game, which also has 20 unclaimed $50,000 prizes, 30 $20,000 prizes and 30 $10,000 prizes.
Also benefiting from this big win is the management of Town Center Sunoco at 19738 Germantown Road in Montgomery County. This Lottery retailer in Germantown will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling a top-prize winning FAST PLAY ticket of $100,000 or more.
