Loyal scratch-off player wins with $5 game
A daily Lottery player from Westminster who favors bingo-themed scratch-offs decided to switch things up and try a crossword-themed game. He purchased two scratch-offs and was rewarded with a $50,000 top prize on the Deluxe Crossword game.
The 65-year-old was at home when he scratched off the $5 game and saw that he won his largest score ever. “I really didn’t believe it, I was in shock ” he recalled.
The Carroll County resident texted his family group chat with the news and expressed his disbelief. He then followed their suggestions to visit a Lottery retailer to scan the scratch-off and confirmed his win.
His Lottery luck couldn’t have come at a better time, he said. The player, who works in the music retail field, plans to save his winnings for his upcoming retirement.
The scratch-off fan purchased this winning scratch-off at Royal Farms #062 located at 1818 Baltimore Boulevard in Westminster. The Carroll County retailer will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize winning scratch-off of $50,000.
The 7th edition of the Deluxe Crossword game went on sale in September 2022 and has two of its eight $50,000 top prizes remaining, along with six $10,000 prizes.
