Randallstown man wins third-tier prize Powerball prize on quick-pick ticket
A Baltimore County man who regularly plays Maryland Lottery games doesn’t often get to experience the joy of finding a five-figure winning ticket. The U.S. Postal Service employee is celebrating a special delivery of his very own — a third-tier $50,000 Powerball prize.
The Randallstown resident bought a $3 quick-pick Powerball ticket, which included the Double Play feature, from Royal Farms located at 4045 Wilkens Avenue in Baltimore. He generally plays draw games and uses personal sets of numbers, but on June 1, he opted for a simple quick-pick ticket.
The very next day, he was in disbelief after scanning his ticket and learning about his Lottery luck in the June 1 drawing. He hasn’t made any plans yet for his prize, but does plan to keep playing until he wins a big jackpot.
His big chance comes tonight, when the Powerball drawing features an estimated jackpot annuity of $221 million with an estimated cash option of $104 million. Maryland has sold 32 third-tier winning tickets in 2024 of $50,000 to $150,000. The last Powerball jackpot was hit on May 6 in Florida, when a player hit the $214.9 million jackpot.
