$50,000 Third-Tier Winning Powerball Ticket Sold in Laurel

$478.2 million Powerball jackpot hit in Georgia

A Georgia player won the $478.2 million Powerball jackpot last night but Maryland players can celebrate, too. A $50,000 third-tier winning ticket was sold in Laurel in the Oct. 23 drawing and 13,949 players won prizes of $4 to $100. Another 1,554 Maryland players who added Power Play to their tickets won prizes of up to $200.

The $50,000-winning ticket was purchased at Laurel Park Liquor and Deli, located at 13600 Baltimore Avenue in Prince George’s County.

The winning numbers from the drawing are 2, 15, 27, 29 and 39; the Powerball was 20 and the Power Play multiplier x2. Maryland Powerball players have won 51 $50,000 third-tier prizes in 2024 and 14 third-tier prizes since the jackpot roll began on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

Last night’s jackpot hit kicks off our Jackpot Reset promotion. Play Powerball two weeks after a jackpot is won and you could randomly win a free $2 Mega Millions ticket. If the jackpot is hit again during the two-week promotion, the promo will restart and run for the next two weeks.

Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. They get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.

Instructions for claiming prizes are available on the How to Claim page of the Lottery website. Prizes of more than $25,000 must be claimed through Lottery headquarters, either in person or by mail. Lottery headquarters is in the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330, in Baltimore. An appointment is required to claim in person (no walk-ins).
