Jose Vargas Jimenez of Accokeek picked the right time to play the Lottery as he walked away with a $50,000 top prize.
Seventy top-prizes remain on $20 game
Jose Vargas Jimenez of Accokeek occasionally purchases scratch-offs and he chose the right day to play as he won $50,000 on a $50,000 Cash ticket.
The construction worker was at the store with his father, who is an avid Lottery player. When his dad decided to purchase his usual rounds of tickets, Jose decided he wanted in on the fun.
He took his ticket home and noticed he matched his number with a $50,000 prize when he scratched it off.
“I was very happy. My dad was happy for me too,” Jose explained.
The Prince George’s County man said he plans to put his prize into a savings account. The scratch-off was purchased at Keller’s Market at 15624 Livingston Road in Accokeek.
For selling the winner, the Prince George’s County store will receive a $500 bonus. The $20 $50,000 Cash scratch-off started on Dec. 29, 2022 with 160 top prizes of $50,000. Seventy $50,000 top prizes remain along with prizes ranging from $20 to $5,000.
