Bowie man purchased winning ticket at Hyattsville gas station
A man in a hurry claimed a $50,000 FAST PLAY ticket this week at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore and then quickly headed home to Bowie.
After completing the paperwork to claim his top-tier prize on the $5 Double Win game, he stopped briefly to chat, took a call on his cell phone and politely excused himself. The $50,000 win was the fifth of 20 top prizes on the ticket, leaving 15 more available.
The player-with-places-to go found his Lottery luck waiting at the Dodge Park Sunoco gas station at 7620 Landover Road in Hyattsville. The store receives a Lottery bonus of $500, equal to 1% of the prize amount, for its role in the sale.
