Allegany County woman takes home top-prize on MONOPOLY X50 game
An Allegany County woman received a scratch-off as a gift and it resulted in a $100,000 prize on the MONOPOLY X50 game. The scratch-off from the Maryland Lottery and licensed by Scientific Games, LLC was purchased by family member as a Valentine Day’s gift.
The casual player started to scratch away and saw she had the winning number of 40 that matched her number of 40 with a $100,000 prize. She liked what she saw but wanted a second opinion.
“I had to have a family member look it over,” she said. She then received confirmation that she was indeed a top-prize winner.
According to the Western Maryland resident, she is undecided on how she is going to spend her prize. She added that she will play again if she receives another ticket as a gift. She is still in disbelief over her win. “It’s just one of those things that was unexpected,” said the retired transportation worker.
The Cumberland 7-Eleven, located at 400 Maryland Avenue, will also receive an unexpected prize. For selling the ticket, the Allegany County retailer gets a $1,000 bonus.

This is the fourth top-prize winner on MONOPOLY X50 as Roberto Fuentes Valdivia of Hyattsville and players from Halethorpe, and Severna Park also took home $100,000. There are still many chances to win as six prizes of $100,000 and six prizes of $50,000 remain unclaimed, along with prizes ranging from $10 to $10,000.
MONOPOLY Second-Chance Promotion is still going strong. Players can enter any of the six non-winning MONOPOLY scratch-offs into My Lottery Rewards for a chance to win a rolling cash jackpot or cash prize. Monthly second-chance drawings through July will award $5,000 prizes and rolling cash jackpots that start at $10,000 and grow until the drawing date. The next deadline to enter is April 7.
