Player claims top prize on Diamond Bingo instant ticket
A lucky Harford County woman was gifted six scratch-offs from a good friend, who stopped to buy cigarettes and decided to purchase the $3 Diamond Bingo instant tickets for her. The batch of games held a delightful surprise – a $30,000 top-prize winner!
The lucky instant ticket hails from Wawa #567 located at 231 North Philadelphia Boulevard in Aberdeen. This 3rd edition of the Diamond Bingo game just went on sale in June and she won the first of its seven $30,000 top prizes.
What makes the win special for the 38-year-old woman, in addition to the fact that she received the game as a gift, is that she initially thought she won only $100. When she went to cash the scratch-off, she gave it to a clerk who did a double-take and then informed the Aberdeen resident that the game was, in fact, a $30,000 winner.
“Are you kidding me!” the happy lady remembers shouting. She then realized that she didn’t want to draw attention to herself so she kept her cool and left the store. The lucky lady plans to use her winnings for some needed home improvements.
Also a winner is Wawa #567. The store will receive a $300 bonus from the Lottery for its role in selling a top-prize winning scratch-off worth $30,000.
