Allegany County Man’s Quick-Pick Luck Lands $50,000 Prize

Claims top prize in May 31 drawing

An Allegany County resident wrapped up the month of May in spectacular style by winning a $50,000 top prize in Bonus Match 5.

The winner bought a $6 quick-pick ticket in the May 31 drawing. The sixth of the nine lines of numbers on his ticket matched the winning numbers for the big prize.

The Western Maryland player has won one of 16 Bonus Match 5 top prizes scored in Maryland to date in 2024. He bought his lucky ticket at Parkview Liquors, located at 82 Greene Street in Cumberland. The retailer receives a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize winning Bonus Match 5 ticket.

Bonus Match 5 drawings take place seven days a week. Players select five numbers ranging 1 one to 39. The Bonus Ball drawn from the remaining 34 numbers provides extra chances to win. Your ticket is a winner if you match five, four or three of the original five winning numbers selected in the drawing. If you match the Bonus Ball number, you only need to match four, three or two of your original numbers to win!
