Baltimore County Man Hides Winning Racetrax Ticket Too Well

Claims $32,400 prize in July on race run in the spring

A Baltimore County man watched his horses cross the finish line on May 15 to deliver his biggest Lottery win ever. The Racetrax player told Lottery officials that his win happened one day before he left on an extended overseas vacation so he hid his lucky ticket in a safe spot at home. He planned to collect his $32,400 prize when he returned but his memory led to quite a delay.

“To be honest, we were gone for so long and had such an eventful trip, that I almost forgot about the ticket,” he said. “My wife reminded me and, for the life of me, I could not remember where I put it.”

The couple searched for almost an hour until his wife gave up. “She assumed it was a $20 or $30 win, which is what I usually win. When I told her it was worth more than $32,000, she was furious with me.”

Happily, they found the Racetrax ticket relatively soon. “I had put it with my work papers so I’d see it when I got home. It seemed like the perfect spot.”

The winner, who is a shipping specialist, has horses 1, 3, 6, and 7 to thank for his big prize.  These horses crossed the finish line in the exact order predicted on his $20 Superfecta wager. He plans to share the prize with his family.

Also celebrating his big win is his Lottery retailer. The management of Timonium Shell at 2161 York Road received a $324 Lottery bonus for selling a winning Racetrax ticket of $10,000 or more.
