Lucky ticket sold in March 20 drawing
The weather for the first day of spring was a big winner on Saturday and so is the player who bought a lucky Powerball ticket at Southwest Check Cashing & Liquor Store in Baltimore. The player was one of 20 nationwide who won a $50,000 prize in the March 20 drawing.
Even though no one hit the jackpot, there were 19,118 winning tickets sold in Maryland for the March 20 drawing. Marylanders’ prizes ranged from $4 to $50,000.
The Maryland Lottery is looking for the lucky player with a ticket matching the winning numbers of 1, 6, 22, 42 and 61; the Powerball was 4 and the Power Play multiplier was 3. Our winner’s Baltimore City Lottery retailer is located at 3212 Washington Boulevard.
Lottery officials encourage the winner to sign the back of the ticket immediately and put it in a safe location. Winners typically get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. However, the Lottery has temporarily extended claiming deadlines due to Maryland’s COVID-19 state of emergency.
The lucky player can claim the $50,000 prize by mail or in person by appointment at the Lottery headquarters’ Customer Resource Center located at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore. Winners of smaller Powerball prizes can claim them by mail, at Lottery retailers, at casinos or by appointment at Lottery headquarters.
