New $5 scratch-off game drew winner’s attention
A Baltimore City woman who was grocery shopping at Safeway #1481 in Baltimore spotted the $5 Corvette® Cash* scratch-off and decided to try her luck.
She took the instant ticket home to play, and faster than you can say Corvette Z06, she revealed a $50,000 top-prize win. It was hiding in the first block of the first row of the scratch-off. She called to her partner, who was at home, to come look at the instant ticket to confirm her Lottery luck.
“You want a second set of eyes,” she said.
“There was a lot of squinting involved,” he added with a laugh.
The winner has no formal plans yet for the top prize, which is the first one to be claimed since the Corvette® Cash game went on sale April 24. The game has seven more top prizes available, along with 11 $5,000 prizes and more than 988,000 other prizes ranging from $5 to $1,000.
Her lucky Lottery retailer can also celebrate. For selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off, Safeway #1481 at 2610 Boston Street in Baltimore will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery.
