The Baltimore resident was making a delivery on Harford Road when he decided to stop and fill up the truck’s gas tank. “It was the first of several deliveries that day, so I knew I’d have to gas up at some point.”
Noticing that Harford Citgo was a Lottery retailer, he decided to try his luck. An avid player with an affinity for instant tickets, he picked out the $5 Bonus Cash Doubler game for no particular reason. “I can’t tell you why I played it,” he said. “At that moment, it just seemed like the right game.”
Normally a low-key person, the winner found himself bouncing around the cab of his truck when he realized how much he’d won. “It was a real shock. I just kept saying, ‘Yes!’ over and over.”
Bonus Cash Doubler went on sale in July. This Baltimore top-prize win is the game’s third, leaving five more $50,000 winning scratch-offs available. His prize proceeds will remain in the bank for the time being, said the lucky player, explaining, “This sure makes life easier, more comfortable.”
Also on the winning end of his decisions is Harford Citgo. The store located at 2330 Harford Road in Baltimore City will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off.
