Anne Arundel County winner claims $50,000 Powerball prize
A lucky Arnold man just received a win of a lifetime. He plays Powerball and Mega Millions every week, and has taken home smaller prizes along the way. His largest catch is now a $50,000 prize from a Powerball Quick Pick ticket.
The winner made a stop at Giant Food Store #0358 at 573 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. He bought numbers for three Powerball drawings. On August 7, he matched four white balls and the Powerball giving him a third-tier $50,000 prize.
Upon discovering the win, he quickly showed his wife the ticket. She still didn’t believe him. In fact, she was so sure he had a non-winning ticket that she nearly convinced him of the same. Thankfully, the Anne Arundel County resident checked another three times before giving up.
Paying off debt seems to be the big focus he has for his winnings. Having worked in electronics for 40 years, this Lottery windfall is an added bonus for his already-planned retirement. When he’s not working or playing the Lottery, he enjoys boating.
